Teaching Philosophy:

Julie believes music is a timeless art. She holds a deep love for her cross-generational studio and is committed to serving students of all ages and abilities. Her joy lies in giving students and families the opportunity to learn music, to appreciate and discover our musical potential, and to perform and experience music as an amazing gift at each lesson and recital. Her belief is, “Through music, we can reach the soul. Let our souls speak, and in turn, we can speak to everyone.”

Justified Unique Learning In Education is the teaching philosophy she embraces to best meet each student’s needs and desire to learn. Building a strong foundation through rhythmic and note reading, ear training, and music theory, and teaching students introspection and mindfulness awareness in lessons to enhance musical development and focused practice are key elements of her approach to teaching.

Driven by a deep passion for lifelong learning and community service, she firmly believes we should share our unique gifts and talents with others, learn something new every day, and fearlessly embrace musical challenges. Julie encourages, “Let us choose to embrace God’s greatness, energy, and power through the transformative force of music.”

Performance:

As a dedicated educator and musician, Julie has made a significant impact on the tri-state area. Her performances on percussion with Roots & Rhythms, the Southbank Quartet, Immanuel Orchestra, and other local talents have showcased her versatility. She serves as a Music Minister at St. Joseph Cold Spring and enjoys playing with local musicians to benefit the community, including the Cincinnati Metropolitan Orchestra and Giving Glory Contemporary Music Group. She has also served as a Music Enrichment Instructor at Notre Dame Academy and lent her skills to the Brass Fellowship, the Howard Bloemker Orchestra, the Seven Hills Sinfonietta, the Cincinnati Music Theatre, the Showboat Majestic, the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, the Musical Gift Tour, and various local events.
