IMMANUEL SCHOOL OF MUSIC PRESENTS
Julia Bartles Concerto Competition 2027
The Julia Bartles Concerto Competition is presented by the Immanuel School of Music. This concerto competition is a biennial event for instrumental students ages 5 – 18 in the Tri-State area.
Each instrumental division has a required concerto and in the younger divisions each movement is a separate competition. Students may audition with one movement, two movements, or all movements in the younger divisions. The first-place winner of each division will perform with ISM's Youth Sinfonia in collaboration with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra (Summermusik). The Final Concert and Awards Ceremony will take place in the Historic Memorial Hall in OTR. The second & third-place winners of each division will be presented awards at the end of the concert.

- $65 two movements
- $85 three/four movements

Audition times will be emailed to each applicant one (1) week after the application deadline. No changes will be made to the audition or rehearsal schedule. All students need a piano accompanist for the auditions.

Rules and Guidelines
- Participating students are required to be available for the dress rehearsal (February 20, 2027) & final concert (February 21, 2027 @ 6pm).
- All works are required to be performed by memory.
- Each movement is a separate competition. Students may audition with one movement, two movements, or all three/four movements in the younger divisions.
- Provide 1 copy of your marked music for the judges. Copy of student’s music that shows fingerings, bowings, metronome markings, etc.
- Auditions are scheduled and grouped by division.
- All students need a piano accompanist for the auditions. If you are unable to provide your own piano accompanist, the JB Competition will provide a pianist for you. A brief rehearsal will occur the same day as the audition before your scheduled time.
- Completed applications need to be submitted by the deadline to be accepted.
- Application fees are non refundable.
