Music Workshops

Cost: $160 per (6) week workshop series -

minimum 3 students per workshop series

Location:  Central Campus


Enhance your musical skills with our ISM Music Workshops.

Summer workshop 6-week series days include:

Day / Times offerings - Tuesdays and/or Thursdays:

Each Workshop Series meets once weekly for the listed 6 weeks.

Attend the weeks you are able.


  • Tuesdays 9:30-10:30 am (geared toward grades 5-8) 
  • Workshop Series 1: Music Theory
  • Tuesdays: June 16, 23, 30 / July 7, 14, 21


  • Tuesdays 12:00-1:00 pm (geared to grades 5-12)
  • Workshop Series 2: Piano Performance
  • Tuesdays: June 16, 23, 30 / July 7, 14, 21
  • Students perform weekly for each other and receive feedback to enhance their musical growth.


  • Tuesdays 3:45-4:45 pm (geared toward grades 9-12)
  • Workshop Series 3: Music Theory
  • Tuesdays: June 16, 23, 30 / July 7, 14, 21



  • Thursday 9:30-10:15 am (geared toward grades 5-8) 
  • Workshop Series 4: Music Theory & Rhythm Games
  • Thursdays: June 18, 25 / July 2, 9, 16, 23



  •  Thursdays 10:30-11:30 am (geared toward grades 5-8)
  • Workshop Series 5: Group Percussion.
  • Thursdays: June 18, 25 / July 2, 9, 16, 23
  • Students enjoy playing with other student percussionists. Focus on synchronized playing of rudiments, lessons, and simple cadences.


  • Thursdays 11:45-12:45 pm (geared to youth - adults)
  • Workshop Series 6: Cross-Generational Ensemble
  • Thursdays: June 18, 25 / July 2, 9, 16, 23
  • Play as an ensemble with a focus on percussive improvisation; we explore jazz, show tunes, modern songs, and more.


  • Tuesdays 12:00-1:00 pm (geared to grades 5-12)
  • Workshop Series 7: Piano Performance
  • Thursdays: June 18, 25 / July 2, 9, 16, 23
  • Students perform weekly for each other and receive feedback to enhance their musical growth.


  • Thursdays 3:30-4:45 pm (geared toward grades 3-7)
  • Workshop Series 8: Rhythmic Games
  • Thursdays: June 18, 25 / July 2, 9, 16, 23
  • Students focus on rhythmic note-reading games & weekly challenges as they become rhythmic gurus.



Meet your teachers:  


Co-taught by mother-daughter team:

Julie Geiman, Education Director & Monica Geiman, ISM Alumni / Student Teacher.  

Meet Monica Geiman:  

Monica is currently a double major at the University of Kentucky in Violin Performance and Arts Administration. She is a student teacher for the UK Strings Project and an intern for GSA Summer 2025. Monica is a proud ISM Alumni and former Sinfonia Concert Master. During her time as an ISM student, she was a member of the ISM Student Quartet, an ISM Mentor, Mozart student teacher, and an ISM Intern.  

Meet Julie Geiman.

Julie believes music is a timeless art. She holds a deep love for her cross-generational studio and is committed to serving students of all ages and abilities. Her joy lies in giving students and families the opportunity to learn music, appreciate and discover our musical potential, and perform and experience music as an amazing gift at each lesson and recital performance. Her belief is, “Through music, we can reach the soul. Let our souls speak and in turn, we can speak to everyone.”
