Rich Hess-Luers
Trumpet Faculty
Rich Hess-Luers is a freelance trumpet player in the Greater Cincinnati region. He graduated from Mount St. Joseph University in 2020 with a B.S. in Mathematics, Computer Science, Chemistry, and Music. Outside of his regular working hours at P&G, Rich enjoys regularly playing with many local ensembles, including the West Side Community Band, P&G Big Band, ISM Brass Choir and Orchestra, and the newly formed P&G Concert Band.
Rich’s other music passions include private instruction in college and recently joining the ISM Music Faculty! He’s studied under renowned trumpeters Tim Kennedy, Sean Fitzpatrick, Matt Anklan, and Andrew Jeng (current). Hess-Luers has lent his skills to the Cincinnati Metropolitan Orchestra, Ein Stein German Band, with guest appearances including the ISM Sinfonia and U.S. Air Force Band & Singing Sergeants.
Rich is a consistent donor to the Arts. He enjoys attending local events and concerts; some of his favorites include the CSO and Cincinnati Pops.
Fun fact: Rich is also active in Real Estate management, with a growing portfolio across NKY and Cincinnati. He enjoys sports, traveling, serving in church, and dabbling in other brass instruments and piano in his free time.
